As Jupiter enters Aries from January to June 2011 it will oppose Saturn in Libra. This will cause a focus on cooperation and fairness in relationships.

As benefic Jupiter enters the sign of Aries, it will start to oppose malefic Saturn in Libra, becoming exact at the end of March 2011. How this will affect individuals will vary but the same themes will dominate, Saturn in Libra- strict fairness in partnerships, and Jupiter in Aries – benefiting from independence.

Jupiter vs. Saturn

Jupiter is lightness, expansive, excess, laziness, indulgence, hope, life, foreign influences, higher knowledge, law, and old fashioned good luck. Saturn is heaviness, pressure, restriction, hard work, denial, depression, death, penalties, suffering, humility, and old fashioned bad luck. Jupiter in the independent sign of Aries says, “I will do this on my own and succeed!” Saturn in Libra says, “You must cooperate and be fair, or it’s over and done with.”

Cooperation and Fairness in Relationships

Saturn in Libra is exalted, offering constructive criticism and organization. It can offer any new project proposed by Jupiter in Aries, some sound advice which must be taken in order to succeed. Saturn in Libra puts immense pressure on fairness in relationships and does not let up. Saturn has been in Libra for a while now, so some people may have been stressing about feeling wronged in relationships. If things do not appease Saturn in Libra’s tough terms, they may find the inspiration, as Jupiter enters Aries, to leave to set out on their own. Jupiter offers new opportunities which allow one to flourish independently. However, one should pause and get expert advice before doing anything rash as the Aries influence tends to act first and think about it later. As long as any separation is well thought out, becoming independent can truly be beneficial.

Although oppositions often cause separations, it can also signify more awareness on current or new relationships. It highlights the importance of taking into account other people’s perspective. This is a good time to use some Saturnian discipline in order to help save partnerships which are important. Make a schedule to fairly dole out the chores, pull out that ruler or excel sheet and measure out exactly how much is fair for each party to have. This could relate to anything important in a relationship, from money, time, to room in the sock drawer. It may seem silly to use such strict measures in order to find some peace and harmony, but that is Saturn in Libra. Once balance is established, each individual will be able to succeed in his or her own endeavors as Jupiter shines on this cooperation.

Jupiter & Saturn Balance

Another manifestation of Jupiter opposite Saturn is the ‘One door closes, another one opens,’ scenario. This means that a wonderful new opportunity may appear but the next day, something important may fail. It’s a quick karmic balance between these two spiritual giants. First Jupiter causes something good to happen, and then Saturn causes something bad. Jupiter makes sure that Saturn’s disappointments won’t sting so badly and Saturn ensures that nothing Jupiter gives is taken for granted. This is the ideal process for building a substantial and successful venture of any kind.

Aesop’s Tortoise and the Hare

The Tortoise is Saturn, of course, slowly moving towards his goal while the Hare is Jupiter in Aries, all happy because he knows that there is no competition for speed. However, due to the fact that Jupiter and Saturn are in opposition, the Tortoise and the Hare must cooperate in order to get their goals accomplished. The Hare represents new, exciting opportunities while the wise Tortoise makes him wait as he scrutinizes the fine print in the contracts. Incorporate these two influences and the best of success is assured.

To sum it up, enjoy the exciting good fortune that Jupiter will quickly bestow, but be sure to seek balance with others before embarking on any solo adventures. Be careful and cautious in negotiations, focusing on fairness and equality and the greatest of achievements are possible.
